Your wedding day is one of the greatest joys you will experience, so it’s understandable why we share the day with friends and family. Being surrounded by the ones you love and care for makes the day that much more meaningful, especially since they are there, sharing your special day with you. However, due to the cycles of life, some of our loved ones might no longer be present when it comes time to tie the knot, but we still want their presence felt. If nothing matches or you are afraid of it clashing with your outfit, try to wear an item that belonged to them somewhere that isn’t seen by others (i.e., inside of a wedding dress or suit, inside of a pocket, the underside of your tie, etc.).

Using a bouquet pin or a photo locket to help keep your wedding bouquet together or incorporating their favorite flowers into the bouquet and centerpieces can serve as a small way to honor and remember them on your wedding day. Personal items like a handkerchief or a ribbon can also be attached to your bouquet.
#3. Embroidering a handwritten message or phrase from your loved one on the inside of your wedding dress or suit jacket can help you remember and carry them and their well wishes with you. You can also get creative and add this to your handkerchief, wedding dress label, or anywhere else!
#4. Reserving a seat for your loved one is a great way to ensure they still have a front-row seat at your wedding. You can honor them by placing photos or other mementos on the chair and including a memorial sign or a flower. Incorporating their pictures into the ceremony aisle décor is another excellent way to have them in the audience without being physically present.
#5. Acknowledge their presence in any way you can. For instance, incorporate their favorite colors, flowers, food, and music into your wedding. During the service, you can share memories and quotes to honor those in spirit or create a photo display that features those who cannot be present and light a candle in their honor.
